‘Wake Up From Your Sleeping Bed And Save Nigeria From Collapse’—Peter Obi Urges Tinubu After Gruesome Murder Of Ekiti Monarchs

The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi has called on President Bola Tinubu to step up and address the escalating security crisis gripping the nation.

The appeal comes in the wake of the brutal killing of the Elesun of Esun Ekiti and Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti by suspected kidnappers.

THE WHISTLER had reported that suspected kidnappers had killed two traditional rulers in Ekiti State.

The monarchs were said to be returning from a security meeting in Irele-Ekiti in a vehicle being driven by one of their colleagues, the Alara of Ikole Ekiti, when gunmen ambushed them along a community in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State on Monday

Expressing deep concern, Obi took to his official X handle, on Monday to asked the president to “wake up from his sleeping bed and save Nigeria from total collapse.”

He wrote, “We are saddened by the report that Elesun of Esun Ekiti and Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti were murdered earlier today (Momday), cause of death: Insecurity and Tinubu.

Obi emphasized the urgency of the situation adding, “We call on Tinubu to wake up from his sleeping bed and save Nigeria from total collapse. Don’t speak up today. Tomorrow, insecurity might consume you or a loved one.”
