We’ll Soon Reopen Airports – FAAN

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has urged air travellers to exercise patience while its management puts measures in place for the safe reopening of airports across the country.

FAAN, on Thursday, said the prolonged shutdown of airports across the country was to ensure necessary safety measures were in place to protect passengers from the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The organization said in a tweet, “FAAN management is working hard to put in place measures to protect you against Covid-19 – when next you visit. Pls be patient with us. You will fly again soon.

“We are working round the clock to ensure we open soon, please bear with us,” it said.

President Muhammadu Buhari had first imposed flight restriction for travelers from 13 countries on March 13.

The federal government subsequently suspended all international flights on March 21, following worsening Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the country. The flight ban was extended for another four weeks on May 6.
