Wike Hosts South-South Governors On VAT, 2023

Governors of the six South-South states are currently holding a meeting at Government House in Port Harcourt.

The governors are meeting to review their position on the Value Added Tax (VAT) and the 2023 presidential election.

THE WHISTLER gathered that the agenda of the meeting revolved around the two-vote issues of VAT and the demand for the presidency to come to the South in 2023.

Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki, was the first to arrive at Government House Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and was received by the host, Governor Nyesom Wike.

Chairman of the forum, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, arrived moments after to the warm embrace of Wike.

Five Northern states have joined the FIRS in the suit against Rivers and Lagos States on remittance of VAT.
