84-Year-Old American To Spend 21 Years In Jail For Robbing US Bank $8, 385

A United States District court sentenced one Robert Francis Krebs (84) residing in Arizona to 21 years and 8 months in prison having convicted him of armed robbery.

This was disclosed in a statement published by the US Department of Justice.

According to court findings, Krebs robbed two banks and subsequently went into hiding in the area.

But he was later apprehended by security agents.

The old man is said to have been convicted on a number of times in the past and had spent certain amount of years in jail due to his criminal involvement.

In this new case, U.S. District Judge Jennifer G. Zipps, on Wednesday, sent him to 262 months in jail.

The money he stole was also ordered to be refunded.

He will be about 105 years old then.

The statement reads:

“Robert Francis Krebs, 84, of Tucson, Arizona, was sentenced yesterday by U.S. District Judge Jennifer G. Zipps to 262 months in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release. Krebs was previously convicted by a jury for armed bank robbery. Krebs was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $8,385.

“On January 12, 2018, Krebs used a BB gun to rob two bank tellers of over $8,000 at a Pyramid Federal Credit Union in Tucson, Arizona. Krebs was arrested the following day at a motel where he had been residing. Krebs has an extensive prior criminal history and was on a term of probation in Florida when he committed this robbery.

“The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Tucson Police Department conducted the investigation in this case. Raquel Arellano and Christine A. Melton, Assistant U.S. Attorneys, District of Arizona, Tucson, handled the prosecution.”
