Abia Poly Students, Others, Welcome Appointment of New Rector

The Student Union Government (SUG) of Abia State Polytechnic, Aba has expressed its excitement over the appointment of Dr. Engr. Christopher Kalu Okoro, formerly of the Department of Electrical/Electronic Engineering at the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike (MOUAU), as the new Rector of the institution.

In a press release signed by the SUG President, Edwin Chijioke, the student body thanked Governor Alex Otti for selecting a “student-friendly” leader.

“The Student Union Government Abia State Polytechnic, Aba wishes to thank the student-friendly Governor Dr Chioma Otti (OFR) for appointing Dr Kalu Christopher Okoro as Rector Abia State Polytechnic, Aba.

“The entire students are excited to welcome our amiable Rector to the institution. As the leader of the Student Union Government, we are ready to work with him and promise to support him to ensure all the lofty dreams and goals he has for Abiapoly are actualized,” the statement reads.

Dr. Okoro’s appointment has also been commented by the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) at MOUAU. In a congratulatory message, the NAAT executives lauded Dr. Okoro’s exceptional leadership, dedication, and hard work in his previous positions.

The statement reads: “We the Executives and the entire members of the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) MOUAU branch congratulate you on your recent appointment as the Rector, Abia State Polytechnic, Aba. Your new appointment is proof of your exceptional leadership, dedication, and hard work in your previous positions.

“Your appointment is a great accomplishment that is well-deserved and a reflection of your remarkable achievements in the field of academic administration. There is no doubt that you have demonstrated a deep commitment to advancing the academic visions and administrative goals in your previous positions, and this recognition is a demonstration of your tireless efforts.

“We appreciate the Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr. Alex Chioma Otti on this appointment of our own Engr. Dr. Okoro Christopher Kalu as the Rector, Abia State Polytechnic, Aba. Dr. Okoro C.K. you are a round peg in a round hole.

“As you assume your new office, we do not doubt that you will continue to bring the same level of excellence, passion, and dedication that has earned you this appointment.”

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Aba Axis has also extended well wishes to Dr. Okoro. NANS Stakeholders Chairman for the Aba Axis, Comrade Igwe Samuel, praised Dr Okoro’s “result-oriented lifestyle” and thanked Governor Otti for the appointment.

“The entire Stakeholders and comrades of the National Association of Nigerian Students Aba Axis wish to feliciate Dr Kalu Christopher Okoro on your new appointment as Rector of Abia State Polytechnic, ABA. Your result-oriented lifestyle contributed to your new appointment.
