After Celebrating Abba Kyari’s Death, Kano Ex-Commissioner Contracts Coronavirus

Kano State’s former Commissioner for Works, Muazu Magaji, who was sacked by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje for celebrating Abba Kyari’s death, has tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Magaji announced his status in a Facebook post on Thursday.

“This morning my NCDC test is out… I have been confirmed Covid-19 Positive… And have been moved to one of the state facilities…pray for us!,” he said.

THE WHISTLER reported how Magaji had shared a series of posts on Facebook criticising Kyari after the former Chief of Staff to the President died from complications of COVID-19.

The former Commissioner had said: “I am not a hypocrite and I won’t pretend! While at personal level I pray Allah grant Abba Kyari Jannah… I sincerely believe Nigeria needed a better CoS period!,” adding that, “Nigeria is bigger than any individual… While praying for the president’s late support staff.. Our’s is to prevent a repeat of his non accountable dominiaring Era!.”

The social media posts led to his sacking by Governor Ganduje.

Magaji is said to have been evacuated to an isolation centre in Kano by officials of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
