Alleged Rape: Twitter Influencer, Tife Threatens N100m Libel Case Against Sansa

Popular Twitter Influencer, Boluwatife Fabunmi, @Tife_fabunmi, has threatened a legal action against fellow Twitter user, Comfort Omovre Akindulureni, @_oroboghene popularly known by her username Sansa, who accused him of raping her in February last year.

Tife, through his legal counsel, is seeking general and exemplary demands to the tune of N100, 000, 000 if his demands are not met within the stated timeframe.

Sansa’s name is currently trending at number 1 on Twitter following Tife’s post as the issue was wildly popular last year when she made the allegations.

In the Pre-Action Notice which he posted on his Twitter feed, Tife’s lawyers listed out his demands to Sansa.

The demands are, “A video and written apology posted on your Twitter timeline, retracting the false allegation of rape, blackmail, and assault made against the person of our client, alongside a promise to never fabricate lies against our client or any other person.

“An apology to genuine victims of rape as your false accusation makes light of their plight. The requested apology must be approved by our client before it is posted to your timeline”.

Tife and Sansa were in a relationship sometime last year which they mutually ended.

Following the end of the relationship, Tife made some tweets insinuating that Sansa was unfaithful during the relationship to which she replied that she was never unfaithful and accused Tife of raping and abusing her during the relationship.

In a series of now-deleted tweets, Sansa alleged that Tife humiliated, raped, and abused her. She chronicled the alleged rape incident and said that all she did was love him and be there for him.

“I never cheated on anyone with anybody, male or female. I only ever loved Boluwatife Fabunmi and was there for him as best as I knew how to and what did I get in return? I was shamed! Ridiculed! Blackmailed! Raped! Disrespected! Cheated on!” she said.

She also posted screenshots from conversations she had with Tife where he seemingly admitted to raping her. He subsequently posted an apology for the comments he made claiming she was unfaithful.

He however refuted the rape claims and said he would be engaging legal means of clearing his name.

After this statement, he made a complete 360 turn and issued an apology to Sansa on his Twitter timeline for the alleged rape.

Following the apology, he made a series of tweets claiming the apology was a hurried attempt at getting over the trauma he experienced at the time of the accusation.

He stated that he never raped Sansa, saying that in the conversation that Sansa took screenshots of, she manipulated him into looking like he was accepting that he raped her.

In August, just three months after the entire debacle, Sansa got married to another man, much to the surprise of Twitter users.
