Anonymous Hacks ISIS Twitter Accounts, Flood it With Gay Images And Porn

An anonymous group have hacked into Twitter accounts belonging to the Islamic State group (Isis), giving it a gay-friendly makeover.

The pro-IS accounts that were hacked were all renamed “Jacked by a Ghost”, and replacing content with gay pride messages and links to gay pornography.

The move follows the deadliest shooting in US history, when gunman Omar Mateen killed 49 people in a gay nightclub in Florida.

The Anonymous hacker, who goes by the name of WauchulaGhost on Twitter, tweeted his successful takeover of the pro-IS account, with an IP address in Oman, and peppered the account with slogans such as “Make love, not war” using hashtags “#MoreSex #LessDeath #ISIS #ISIL #IslamicState”.

While some of the hacked accounts are now suspended by Twitter, three are still online, and apparently still under the control of WauchulaGhost. Speaking to CNN, he explained his motivation: “You had all those innocent lives lost. I just felt there’s something I could do against the Islamic State to defend those people.

“There was a few of us … that discovered a vulnerability,” he continued. “We thought, ‘Hey let’s go start taking their accounts … and humiliating them.’”

The Anonymous hacker has been hacking pro-IS accounts for the past two months and posting pornographic images on their twitter accounts.

Meanwhile, Twitter did not comment on whether the accounts were hacked or not, the microblogging company released a statement condemning the use of their service to promote terrorism.

“We condemn the use of Twitter to promote terrorism and Twitter rules make it clear that this type of behaviour, or any violent threat, is not permitted on our service,” a spokesperson for Twitter said.
