Barcelona Declares €708m Earnings

 

Despite having a disappointing season on the pitch, FC Barcelona made earnings of 708 million euros between July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017, the Spanish giants has confirmed.

The earnings according to the Catalan based side is 13 million euros more than was budgeted for.

The club explains the growth is “in line” with the club’s strategic plan to have earnings of 1,000 million euros by 2021.

According to the record books, the club made a profit of 18 million euros last season, with 66 percent of expenditure being on “payment of salaries to athletes.”

Barca finished second in the Spanish La Liga last season, they were knocked out at the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League last season.

With a value of 3.64 billion euros, the Catalan side were rated fourth most valuable sports club in the world, by Forbes Magazine, placing them behind the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Yankees and Manchester United.
