Church Hospital Abandons Female Patient Who Can’t Pay For Surgery

Popular Benue humanitarian Activist, Ukan Kurugh has shared a story of a 25-year-old lady, who was abandoned by doctors at the NKST Rehabilitation Hospital, Mkar, Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State, because she could not raise money for her surgery.

The patient, Tsav Mseve was rushed to the hospital, owned by a church, Universal Reformed Christian Church (NKST) where it was revealed that she will require a surgery on her leg.

The hospital was alleged to have refused attending to the lady because she could not pay two hundred and seven thousand naira (207,000) for surgery.

Mseve was also said to have been in the hospital since September last year.

In a series of Facebook pictures and video posts by Kurugh, the woman is seen lying on the bed and showing only bone on her right leg – an indication that the leg was rotten.

Kurugh, who was apparently disgusted at the treatment of the lady, commented that the church should show more love to humanity.

The activist also revealed that he has started a fund raising campaign to save the patient’s leg by paying for the surgery.

One of his posts reads: “UPDATE ON THE WOMAN WITH A ROTTEN LEG @ NKST REHABILITATION HOSPITAL MKAR GBOKO.

“My friend Smith Akôm Takema and Azahan just left the hospital now where the said woman is and this is the video they both sent to me but am uploading just this one and anyone who needs the rest should request for it, it’s too gory please.

“My friend Smith said he couldn’t stand the stench in that round hut, so he had to run out.

“I just got the hospital’s account number now but alot of concern people here are saying they prefer my own, so will be making an update towards that now.”

Neither the church nor the hospital has reacted to the report.
