Covid-19: FG launches Sunday Vaccination In Churches

The Federal Government has announced that it will begin a Sunday Covid-19 vaccination programme for all Christians in churches across the country.

The Executive Director of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Faisal Shuaib, disclosed this on Monday in a statement posted on the official Facebook page of the agency.

“I am glad to inform you that from this Phase 2 of the COVID-19 vaccine roll out, we have introduced Sunday Vaccination.

“This is to ensure members of the Christian community who may not have had access to the vaccine for whatever reason are given an opportunity to be vaccinated at their worship places.”

Shuaib however said the COVID-19 vaccine. will only be restricted to the churches that give the vaccination team access to their churches and their members.

The agency stated that as of October 2nd , 2021, 4,932,820 of total eligible persons targeted for COVID-19 vaccination were reached with the first dose while 2,123,060 of total eligible persons targeted for COVID-19 vaccination were reached with the second dose in 36 states and the FCT.
