COVID-19: Police, FRSC, Others Enforce Lockdown In Abuja

Following the presidential directive for a 14-day lockdown in Abuja over Coronavirus, security officials have taken to the streets of the federal capital to ensure that the lockdown was enforced.

Recall that as part of measures to halt the spread of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country, President Muhammadu Buhari had in an address to the nation on Sunday ordered the restriction of movement into and out of Abuja, Lagos and Ogun States for two weeks.

On Tuesday, some officials of the police force, Federal Road Safety (FRSC) and other security personnel were spotted along the Eagles Square, zone 2, Apo bridge and total filling station in Kubwa as early as 8am, ensuring that residents adhered to the directive.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mohammed Musa Bello, had also said defaulters would be arrested and prosecuted.
