In an emotion laden statement, the governorship candidate of the Labour Party in the 2015 election in Rivers State, Mr. Tonye Princewill, has foreclosed ever running for public office again, saying he is too old and broke to bother.

He also dedicated his ground breaking movie which is to air in the Toronto and London Film festivals to the victims of electoral violence in Rivers State.

Speaking on his political future, Princewill vowed never to leave politics but would help others to lead the right way for the benefit of the many and not the few.

“There is a fine line between determination and desperation. I don’t need to cross it.

“People who want to move this country forward know those who can do it. No need crying more than the bereaved,” he said.

“We are grateful to God for giving us a wonderful team and the patience to do things the right way. The success so far is very humbling because all we wanted to do was tell a love story that really meant something to a whole country. We had no idea that it would be this well received all around the world.”

On the subject of when the film would be shown in cinemas and how well it will do, Princewill said; “We release the film in cinemas on November the 25th in Nigeria and Ghana before the rest of the world will get a taste of it. We expect it to do well as people are already ordering for tickets well in advance. But for us, this is about empowering the next generation.

“That is our aim. That is why I dedicate our efforts to victims of the violence in Rivers state. To serve as a reminder to those who think life is not good and to show them, death is no better. Where there is life, there will always be hope.”
