EndSARS: Police Arraign Eromosele In Lagos Court After 8 Days In Detention

For allegedly promoting #EndSARS protest in the country, Eromosele Adene, an activist, has been arraigned at a Lagos High Court on Monday after spending 8 days in police detention.

The 27-year-old musician was arrested at his Ikeja residence on November 7 allegedly by 15 policemen.

But after eight days in their custody, they have now arraigned him on charges bordering on criminal incitement, cyberstalking, provoking breach of public peace.

The offences were allegedly committed “within the Yaba Magisterial District on or about the 7th day of November 2020”.

The Police said Adene was arrested on November 7, following reports that he distributed fliers to stage another protest in Lagos despite warnings from the police against planning or holding protest in the state.

Adene was later taken before the Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, and then transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti before he was moved to Abuja.

He was however returned to Lagos on Sunday night, having undergone interrogation, to appear before the Yaba Magistrate Court.

Recall that the Lagos State Police Command had issued warnings to residents to forget any plans to stage a protest as the state was currently recuperating from the losses incurred during the #EndSARS protest.
