The Centre, in a statement by its chairman, Olanrewaju Suraju, said it approached the court to ensure the matter is not swept under the carpet like many others involving politicians.

Adeosun has been enmeshed in a scandal portent enough for possibly imprisonment, after Premium Times, an online newspaper, reported that the minister forged an exemption certificate of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

The minister has not reacted to the allegation since it was first reported about two months now.

The NYSC, on its part, said it will investigate the origin of the Exemption Certificate.

In the motion, HEDA asked the court for, “An order granting leave to the applicant to apply for an order of mandamus compelling the office of the IGP to investigate and publish its report on the allegations of forgery of NYSC certificate against Nigeria’s finance minister; Mrs. Kemi Adeosun.

“And for such further order or orders as the honourable court may deem fit to make in the circumstances.”
