The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Muhammad Bello has allegedly rejected gift items sent by billionaire Aliko Dangote.

According to ThisDay Newspaper, the food items, which include sugar, salt, spaghetti, rice, danvita, and wheat meal were donated by the Dangote’s Foundation for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) in Abuja.

It was learnt that Bello, who was said to be in a meeting at the time of delivery, gave directives for the items to be returned without reasons.

But in a swift reaction, the Special Adviser to the FCT Minister on Media, Abubakar Sani, denied the allegations.

“FCTA is not aware of any donations and therefore, not in the position to neither reject nor accept the said gift items. I asked who saw the said gifts and the answer was no one did,” he said.

The Dangote Foundation, allegedly took the gift to the FCT as part of its mandate to give especially in the holy month of Ramadan for the indigent and the vulnerable in the society.
