Femi Adesina: I Have No Idea Buhari Endorsed IPOB Ban

Presidential media aide, Femi Adesina has denied knowledge of President Muhammadu Buhari’s alleged approval of the proscription of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Reacting to a question on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Adesina equally said whether or not President Buhari endorsed the declaration of IPOB as a terrorist organisation is subject to confirmation.

“I read the report also online today, but it is not something I have discussed with him,” the presidential aide said late Tuesday.

“So, I can’t confirm or deny whether that actually came up before he left the country.”

Speaking further, Adesina said the repatriation of stolen funds will form part of President Buhari’s discussion at the ongoing 72nd session of the United Nations General (UNGA 72) in New York, United States.

“It (talk about repatriation of funds) had come up in one meeting yesterday and it will still come up. Tomorrow, President Buhari is going to hold a bilateral meeting with the United Nations Secretary-General, you can be sure that is going to be part of what will be discussed,” he said.
