Herdsmen Attack Communities In Adamawa, Kill Over 20 As Villagers Take Refuge In Mountains

Residents Of Midla and Ngalbi in Hong local government area of Adamawa state are said to be in hiding after herdsmen attacked and killed over 20, while destroying farm produce in the communities.

An eyewitness from Milda told THE WHISTLER that they had been hiding in caves since Tuesday after the herdsmen attacked the cummunities.

The eyewitness said the herdsmen had earlier sent a notice that they would attack Ngalbi and Midla in Hong after subsequent attacks on other communities in the local government.

The witness said death casualty was over 20 in the neighbouring villages and security agencies are yet to intervene.

The resident explained the cause of the incident as that of grazing land.

According to her, the herdsmen made the attack as they were denied access to land for grazing by the communities.

She alleged that the cows destroy their farms yearly and as a result they witness low harvest.

She called on the government to intervene to avoid further loss of innocent lives.
