Hoodlums Loaded In Vehicles Fired Warning Shots Before Burning Sunday Igboho’s House – Police

The police in Oyo State have said they got a report that some hoodlums set ablaze the property of Chief Sunday Igboho also known as Sunday Igboho.

The Police Public Relations Officer for Oyo State Police Command, Mr Olugbenga Fadeyi, said in a statement on Tuesday that the hoodlums fired several shots at the vicinity of the house before setting it ablaze.

This was obviously done to scare away anybody who might want to resist them.

The PPRO said the hoodlums who came to perpetrate the act were loaded in a bus and taxi.

He said the police had begun investigation into the incident to unravel those behind the act and would bring them to justice.

The statement read, “At about 0620 hrs of today 26/01/2021, report was received at the Santo Police Station that some unidentified hoodlums came to Sunday Igboho’s house at Soka area of Ibadan in a Hummer bus and Micra ( taxi) firing sporadically, and set the house ablaze.

” The mini sitting room got burnt in the process while the value of other properties is yet to be estimated.

“Immediately the DPO of Santo got wind of the incident, he contacted fire service while he also went to the scene for on the spot assessement. The fire was eventually put out. Investigation has commenced into the incident while the Police is on the trail of the hoodlums.”
