I Did Not Resign, I Remain Ondo APC Chairman , Says Adetimehin

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, Mr Ade Adetimehin, has described as untrue, the report that he has resigned from the ruling party.

Adetimehin, while speaking with THE WHISTLER on Friday, said he remained the chairman of the party and he would never contemplate dumping the party.

The chairman, who was a chieftain of the Alliance for Democracy when the party was the dominant political party in the South-West, said the falsehood emanated from the Peoples Democratic Party.

He said the PDP wanted to use the falsehood to destabilise the ruling party having realised that there was no way they could win the coming governorship election in the state.

He said, ” It is not true that I resigned from the APC. I am the chairman of the ruling party in Ondo State, a party that is still going to win the next election by the grace of God.

” Why will I resign from my party? I didn’t join the APC at any point, we started it together. I am a progressive politician, I don’t defect. I have been a progressive all my life. So, it is not true that I resigned.

“The PDP is behind the rumour. They are desperate and that is why they are employing lies and all manner of propaganda but the people of the state have made up their minds to vote APC again.

“The PDP is behind this mischief and as I am talking to you now, I have going to Image Akoko to receive a prominent politician in the town, Jide Ipinsagba, who is joining the APC.

” Ipinsagba was the senatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress in the last election and he is returning to the APC today.”

Adetimehin said he had been working round the clock to bring more members to the party, saying this had paid off.

The APC chairman urged the public to discountenance the report, saying he remained the chairman of the ruling patty in the state.
