Imo: Supreme Court Decides Ihedioha’s Case Monday

The Supreme Court will on Monday pass judgement on a review application filed by Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), regarding the nullification of the governorship election conducted in the state in the last general election, which he won.

The court had sacked the PDP’s candidate, and declared Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the validly elected governor of the state.

But Ihedioha had approached the Supreme Court, alleging that there were flaws in the results arrived at after the court added votes from 388 cancelled polling units.

His lead counsel, Kanu Agabi (SAN), had also prayed the court for a short adjournment to enable them file necessary documents for the appeal.

The presiding Judge, Tanko Muhammad (CJN) adjourned the case to March 2nd.

Lawyers for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Tanimu Inuwa (SAN) and Hope Uzodinma ,Damian Dodo(SAN), did not object to the new date.
