Impeach Me If You Have The Numbers, Saraki Dares APC

Senate President Bukola Saraki has dared the senators elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to impeach him if they have the numbers.

Saraki, speaking while addressing a world press conference on Wednesday at the National Assembly, said he is willing to be impeached if the ruling party has the numbers.

According to him, he was elected as senate president by members of the senate and not because he belongs to the majority party.

He said, “We must protect the democracy. We must ensure the rule of law. We must follow the constitution.

“If you want to remove anybody, the constitution is very clear. If you have number go ahead and do it. If you don’t have the numbers and you want to turn us into a banana republic, where a small number will sit down. I believe as a country we have gone past that time.

“We want to have a country where other countries will be proud of us.”
