Jibrin Begs Buhari, Says, ‘I am Sorry For Asking You To Resign’

Suspended member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin, has tendered an unreserved apology to President Muhammadu Buhari asking him to resign.

About one week ago, Jibrin citing the ill-health Buhari, asked him to resign and go look after himself.

At that time, he suggested that the president should be offered the option of nominating a new vice-president while Aisha, his wife, should be given a top position in government.

His retraction is coming on the heels of protest by the people of his constituency to the APC headquarters in Kano.

The protesters, who called on the party authorities to sanction him, also threatened to recall the federal legislator.

But speaking in Kano on Friday, Jibrin said his position was misrepresented.

“What I said was misconstrued and blown out of proportion.

“I, Jibrin Abdulmumini Kofa, a member representing Kiru/Bebeji federal constituency, is apologising to President Muhammadu Buhari, the party leadership, Kano state governor, Kano people and all Buhari supporters across the country.

“May Allah give him (Buhari) the strength to rule successfully. And May He give him good health and the country in general.”

He further added: “I’m not apologising to people like Alhassan Ado Doguwa in the national assembly. No one in the hallowed chamber is fighting against corruption like I am.

“I was in the United Kingdom when people were protesting, but what I did was to rush down home in the next available flight. I want show them that I am still with my people. And they support me all the time.”
