JUST IN: How Air Peace Pilot Prevented Another Tragedy

Passengers on a Tuesday Air Peace Flight P47153 from Owerri to Lagos were impressed after the pilot navigated the plane to safe landing during a turbulent weather.

A bad weather had prevented the flight from landing, forcing the pilot to fly passengers back to the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport in Imo State.

THE WHISTLER gathered that the flight was originally scheduled to arrive Lagos at 12:40 pm, but couldn’t.

One of the passengers told this website that the pilot made a sudden U-turn and sustained the plane in the air until he was able to land at the Owerri airport.

“We were turning round and round in the air due to weather concerns,” said the passenger who didn’t want to be mentioned.

THE WHISTLER further learnt that the aircraft had to be refuelled at the Owerri airport before flying back to Lagos for the second time.

The flight that was scheduled for arrival at 12:40 pm eventually arrived Lagos at about 3:50pm to the applause of the pilot by passengers.

Recall that the recent plane crash that claimed the lives of eleven military officers, including the former Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru, has been attributed to bad weather.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Beechcraft B300 King Air 350i had crashed near the airport in Kaduna, killing all members onboard.
