Kudos To The Nigerian Airforce

By JAMES okoronkwo

The Nigeria Air Force under the able leadership of Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar in her avowed determination to root out insurgency in the North East has between July and now conducted 1448 air sorties as well as deployed over 300 ground troops to fight alongside the army in the field of battle.

A modernized Air Force, NAF is using varied sophisticated weaponry to undertake logistics support, reconnaissance combat operations and air surveillance to achieve peace in the North East.

These strategic measures have greatly reduced collateral damage in the area. It is also note worthy that the welfare of children, women and other vulnerable groups has remained paramount in her scheme of things.

Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar and his men have rekindled the hope of the good of Nigeria in the promise of salvaging them from the Boko Haram menace. We must give kudos to the President and the Commander in Chief of the Armed forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari for his sagacity and leadership acumen by motivating the military.

This patriotic and pragmatic strategy has drastically reduced the carnage in this terror besieged zone.In a crisis situation, women and children are usually the casualties. It is in realization of this universal fact that the Air Force constituted a 35 man medical team to cater for the wounded and the displaced persons in Dalori camp in Maidguri.

In furtherance of determination of the leadership of the Air Force to ameliorate the suffering of the victims of Boko Haram, the air force also constructed solar powered boreholes to provide water thereby enhancing sanitation and hygiene in the camps.

It is also worthy of mention that the air force is gender friendly as she has ensured that women are given ample opportunities to excel.
