Lai Mohammed Is ‘Patriotic, Diligent, A Role Model’ – Buhari, Gbajabiamila Hail Minister At 70

President Muhammadu Buhari and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, have saluted Lai Mohammed on the occasion of his 70 years birthday.

In separate statements, Buhari and Gbajabiamila described the minister of information as diligent, patriotic, and a role model.

Buhari’s senior media adviser, Femi Adesina, said the president “congratulates the minister on the milestone, heralded by many years of diligent service to the country, working as a lawyer and businessman, before getting into politics where he served as Chief of Staff in Lagos State, and National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress.”

Buhari further acknowledged Mohammed’s sacrifices and contributions in “raising formidable information machinery that went a long way in bringing change in the country.

“The President believes Mohammed works assiduously to create understanding and enhance the image of the country by bridging the information gaps. The president commends his ingenuity, resilience and emotional intelligence,” he said.

In his message, Gbajabiamila, said the minister has distinguished himself as “a patriotic Nigerian whose services to his fatherland are laudable.”

The Speaker described the minister as “a dependable and diligent politician, who helped in making the ruling APC become what it is today, especially when he served as the National Publicity Secretary of the party as well as the spokesman of the defunct ACN, one of the legacy parties that formed the current ruling party,” adding that he has “made sacrifices for the growth and development of progressive politics in Nigeria and has become a role model.”
