In a video posted on the commission’s Facebook page on Thursday, the EFCC boss was quoted as saying, “There should be understanding, there should be collaboration, there should be repatriation; Send it [Africa’s stolen wealth] back to the victim countries.”

Magu’s call follows President Muhammadu Buhari earlier appeal on Wednesday who also joined his Zambian and Ethiopian counterparts in calling for unity among African countries to demand unconditional repatriation of assets stolen from the continent.

The call came at a high-level event on Illicit Financial Flows (IFFs) held on the sidelines of the ongoing the UNGA.

Buhari, had also on 23 September, 2016 asked the United Nations to mount pressure on western countries to return Nigeria’s alleged stolen funds kept in their banks.
