Man U Move To Extend Ighalo’s Loan Spell

MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly keen to extend  the loan spell of the former Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo, at Old Trafford from Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua.

The 30-year-old – who has entered the last month of his loan deal with the Red Devils – has been a hit at the club since joining during the January transfer window.

In eight games in all competitions, the  former Nigerian international has chipped in with four goals and one assist, with his strikes coming in the Europa League and FA Cup.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the start of the Chinese Super League had to be postponed, with the season now expected to get underway in either June or July.

According to the Manchester Evening News, United want to keep hold of the player until the Premier League is concluded, but are relaxed about the striker potentially heading back to the Far East.

This is because the club would welcome back Marcus Rashford to the first team, with Ighalo only signed due to the back injury the England international picked up earlier this year.

The MEN claim they have contacted Ighalo’s representatives about his future, but they are yet to respond to their request.
