Nigeria Tracing Over 3,000 Coronavirus Suspects

With Nigeria’s confirmed Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases rising to 12 on Thursday, there are indications that more cases of the virus could be reported.

This comes as the country was said to be on the trail of over 3,000 persons suspected to have had direct contact with infected patients.

This was according to a Special Assistant on Health with the Lagos State Government, Tunde Ajayi.

Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases rose to 12 after four new cases of the deadly virus were confirmed in Lagos on Thursday.

The country had confirmed five cases on Wednesday after initially recording three cases of the virus.

One of the first three confirmed cases had later recovered and tested negative for the virus, bring the total active cases to 11.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Commissioner of Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, said at a media briefing that the four new cases were discovered after tests were conducted on 19 suspected cases.
