Paris 2024 Olympics: D’Tigress To Battle Australia, Canada, France

Nigeria’s female basketball team, D’Tigress, have been handed a tough draw in the women’s basketball event of the 2024 Olympics Games.

The team will slug it out with Australia, Canada and host France in Group B.

The draw took place at the Patrick Beau man’s house in Switzerland on Tuesday, all the three teams are ranked higher than the D’Tigress.

Australia are the highest ranked team in third, while Canada are fifth, France occupy the seventh position, and the D’Tigress are ranked 12th.

Nigeria lost to France at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, this is the third time that the D’Tigress will qualify for the Olympics games.

Spain, Serbia, China and Puerto Rico will battle it out in Group A, while Nigeria will take on the likes of Australia, Canada and France in Group B.

Reigning World Champions, USA will slug it out with Germany, Japan and Belgium in Group C.

The first two teams in each group will qualify for the quarter-finals and the best two third place teams will also have a chance of progressing to the last eight.

The women’s basketball event of the Olympics starts from July 29 to August 11 at the Decathlon Arena – Stade Pierre Mauroy in Lille.
