“Police officers from RRS and divisions around Area C are presently at Coker Aguda to quell the unrest caused by miscreants in that area. Heavy patrols and combing of inner streets are also being carried out to fish out the perpetrators.

“Residents are advised to remain calm as the situation is under control,” the tweet reads.

This is coming just days after a similar incident, where some youths, in the wake of the lockdown order, were said to have invaded some homes and shops in parts of Lagos and Ogun States, dispossessing residents of their belongings.

Reports said places affected include Iyana Ipaja and Agege areas of Lagos, as well as Olambe, Giwa Oke-Aro, and Ten-Ten areas of Ogun State.

Residents of some of the communities, however, resorted to keeping vigil around their homes, burning tyres on the roads and streets to ward off the criminals.

However, 191 suspects were arrested in relation to the incident.
