Spain Beats Croatia 5-3 To Secure Quarter Final Spot
Spain has secured a spot in the quarter finals of the Euro 2020.
This followed a well fought battle at the Parken Stadium which saw Luis Enrique’s team defeat Croatia 5-3 .
An own goal from Pedro González in the 20th minute placed the Spanish team behind, but just after 18 minutes, Pablo Sarabia converted the equaliser for Spain to level 1-1.
Cesar Azpilicueta scored Spain’s second goal in the 57th minute and another goal from Ferran Torres secured a 3-1 lead for Spain.
But Mislav Orsic’s 85th minute goal for Croatia made the score 3-2 and gave the team extra energy to fight for an equaliser.
Zlatko Dalic’s team made a comeback at the 3rd minute of the extra time with a goal from Mario Pasalic to level 3-3.
The late equalizer which extended the match by an extra 30 minutes produced a dramatic strike from Alvaro Morata to put Spain in front by a 4 goal lead.
Spain also added a 5th goal from Mikel Oyarzabal to seal the victory.
