Uganda Election: Bobi Wine Cries Out, Says ‘We Are Under Siege’

A presidential aspirant at Thursday’s Uganda Election, Bobi Wine Kyagulanyi (39), has raised alarm over the alleged invasion of his home by military forces.

Wine is the leading political rival trying to unseat incumbent President Yoweri Musevini, who had retained power for 35 years.

“We are under siege. The military has jumped over the fence and has now taken control of our home,” he tweeted on Friday.

Early results from polls had shown Musevini leading Wine.

But Wine, who is both a lawmaker and a musician, said that the election was marred by irregularities.
