Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer, Yemi Alade, has accused media platforms — Cool FM and Clout Africa — of blacklisting her over her inability to perform at one their events.
In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, November 21, 2024, Alade alleged that the platforms have held onto a grudge against her for over a year.
The ‘Johnny’ singer who was recently nominated in the Best African Music Performance category at the Grammys for ‘Tomorrow’, claimed that both platforms have taken down her songs and imposed a ban on her work.
According to the 35-year-old, this has persisted despite her apologies and attempts to reconcile with them.
She described the companies as unprofessional and vindictive, adding that both platforms are “feeling like small gods”.
“My God BIG PASS YOUR WHOLE station @cloutafrica @CoolFMNigeria, keep on forming gate keepers and taking my songs down. NA GOD BE MY LABEL AND MANAGEMENT, we go meet for front. Fake people wey dey feel like small gods,” Alade wrote in one of her posts.

“Mr Serge and Mr Joseph you see this life no hard like that WE SEE YOU…. I SEE YOU @cloutafrica @CoolFMNigeria . This world is a small village. My God will fight for me… Una dey form gate keepers in 2024,” Alade continued
The singer added, “My God will fight for me, and I will hold my peace. Since December 2023 … I personally reached out in January… still, you are refusing to play my music and give my team a hard time. YOU’RE NOT GATE KEEPERS, and YOU ARE NOT GOD Mr Serge Noujaim and Mr Joseph Adamu… MY GOD WILL FUSTRATE YOU ALL. @coolfmlagos @cloutafrica.
“The common decency to reach out and clear out any misunderstanding borne out of sheer carelessness on your path for a whole year and your next move is to place an embargo on my songs? Remove my whole catalogue @CoolFMNigeria.”
The management of Cool FM has yet to respond to Alade’s allegations.
