Zaria Poly Lecturer, Children Released By Abductors

The Head of Department, Computer Engineering at the Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic in Zaria, Bello Atiku, has been released nine days after he was abducted by unknown gunmen.

Atiku was reportedly abducted on November 14 after gunmen invaded the Staff quarters of the Polytechnic.

Also, the gunmen had reportedly shot at his neighbour, Sanusi Hassan, a registry staff of the institution before they made away with his two children.

Confirming his release, the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Abdallah Shehu, said the victims were released on Monday but gave no further details.

“They are all safe now but they need rest and so we were not able to get any details from them but as soon as we get the necessary information, it will be related to the press,” he said.
