Adamawa Govt Gives Tricycle Operators N20m For Supporting Lockdown

The Adamawa State Government has donated the sum of 20 million naira to tricycle (Keke Napep) operators in the state, in a bid to cushion the effect of the 14-day-lockdown period.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Governor’s press secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou.

The governor, Umaru Finitiri said that the donation was a form of appreciation for the effective role played overtime by the transport sector.

The governor thanked everyone in the state and all stakeholders who contributed morally and monetarily to ensure that the combined fight against the Coronavirus pandemic was achieved.

He also said that the government, through donations from well meaning Nigerians and the banking sector, had been able to provide food items for distribution to the vulnerable across the 21 Local Government Areas(LGAs) of the state.

“The outpouring solidarity and support sparked by this shared challenge has been phenomenal,” he said.

He urged residents to keep complying with the public health advisory on Coronavirus, while pledging to judiciously use every funds received for the betterment of the people.
