The Court of Appeal, Abuja has affirmed Chief Kenneth Udeze as the authentic National Chairman of the Action Alliance (AA).

The AA had faced an internal crisis bordering on who its national chairmanship was.

Recall that Justice Justice Eleojo Enenche of the Federal Capital Territory High Court had on March 2022, affirmed the election of Udeze in suit no. FCT/HC/CV/174/2022.

But one Adekunle Rufai Omoaje and two others, in Appeal number: CA/ABJ/CV/955/2022, challenged the judgment, insisting that Chief Udeze was not the party’s chairman.

Chief Uzewuru Nwachukwu, Udeze and two others were joined as respondents.

He added that the 14th, March 2021 National Convention of the party ought to be invalidated.

But in its judgment on Friday, a three-man panel of justices presided over by Justice. H.A. Barka dismissed the appeal for lacking in merit, saying the appellants did not show evidence to warrant them to set aside the verdict of the lower court.

The judge subsequently affirmed Udeze as the authentic National Chairman of AA in the second appeal with the number: CA/ABJ/CV/526/2022.

Furthermore, the appeal court awarded the cost of N1 million against Omoaje in favour of each of the four respondents.

After the court rose, the spokesman of the party, Rev. Dennis Ubani, said the two favourable Court of Appeal judgments had finally put to rest the party’s prolonged legal tussle.

“We express our profound gratitude to the Nigerian judiciary, that indeed it is the last hope for a common man.

Omoaje told the press he would appeal the decision.
