BREAKING: Gunmen Kill 3 In Fresh Imo Attack

No fewer than three persons are feared dead following an attack by some yet-to-be identified gunmen around Neokeisima junction in Umulogho, Obowo Local Government Area, Imo State.

The spokesman of the Imo State police command, Michael Abattam, confirmed the incident to THE WHISTLER but couldn’t provide further details.

“It’s confirmed three dead. Details soonest please,” read Abattam’s terse response to a text message sent to him by our correspondent.

Details of the attack are still sketchy but a resident who pleaded anonymity told this website that it took place at about 7:50 pm on Friday.

He said the assailants opened fire on the victims and zoomed off to an unknown destination.

A video shared with our correspondent showed the victims in their pool of blood around a local beef barbeque spot popularly known as ‘Suya Spot’.

Bystanders at the scene were also heard saying that the assailants came in a sienna bus and shot sporadically and that one of the dead was mistaken as a northerner by the shooters.
