This may not be unconnected with the position of the America’s Frontline Doctors, who had claimed that Hydroxychloroquine Zinc and Zithromax were effective for treating Covid-19.

Two of its members, Dr. Stella Emmanuel and Simeon Gold, had argued that there were enormous research publications on the efficacy of hydroxychloroquine in the fight against Covid-19.

Emmanuel also claimed that she cured over 300 Covid-19 patients with those drugs.

However, the World Health Organization (WHO) had stressed that larger scientific research (which it relies on) did not prove hydroxychloroquine to be an effective cure for Covid-19.

America’s Infectious Disease Expert, Anthony Fauci had also debunked their claims.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump had said that the view of Dr. Stella was still important going by the number of Covid-19 patients she claimed to have treated.

The petition on the White House website reads: “We the Undersigned hereby request a Presidential Executive Order granting permission for all United States physicians to prescribe Hydroxychloroquine for prophylaxis against COVID-19 for all Americans without fear of persecution or retaliation from all medical authorities and governmental agencies.

” Thousands of physicians recognize the abundance of research available that affirms both the safety and effectiveness of low dose prophylaxis using Hydroxychloroquine.

“Americans deserve a Right to Try as a basic human right.

“Currently due to political agendas, citizens are being deprived of their basic human rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

“We believe this executive order will hasten the end of the pandemic with all of its suffering and ensure equal rights to all Americans.”
