DJ Cuppy To Host Apple’s First Radio Show in Africa

Apple Music has announced that it  is launching its first radio show in Africa, called, ‘Africa Now Radio With Cuppy.’

According to the streaming platform, the show will debut on Sunday and it will feature a mix of contemporary and traditional popular African sounds like Afrobeats, rap, house, kuduro and more.

Cuppy, the Nigerian-born DJ and music producer, will host the weekly one-hour show, which will be available at 9 a.m. EDT.

“The show represents a journey from West to East and North to South, but importantly a narrative of Africa then to Africa now,”  AP quoted DJCuppy as saying in a statement.

DJ Cuppy, whose real name is Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola,27,is the daughter of a Nigerian billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola.

The show is expected to feature songs from African music greats like Wizkid, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Burna Boy,  DJ Black Coffee and others.

Many African music  superstars have been signed on by top international music labels.
