Edo APC Primary: Dekeri Demands Certificate Of Return

Amid the controversy trailing Edo State All Progressives Congress (APC) over the rightful winner of its governorship primary election, three different candidates are now claiming victory amid accusations of rigging and manipulation.

Hon. Anamero Dekeri, one of the aspirants, has petitioned the APC National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, demanding to receive the Certificate of Return as the legitimate winner.

On Monday, Dekeri personally delivered a letter to Ganduje at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

The letter cited results announced by the returning officers allegedly showing Dekeri received the most votes.

THE WHISTLER reported that the primary election committee chairman and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma had declared a different result on Saturday night, announcing Dennis Idahosa as the winner with 40,483 votes.

Further muddying the situation, the committee’s returning officer, Stanley Ugboaja, then named another candidate, Monday Okpebholo, as the rightful winner.
