FCT Police Arrest Pastor, Others Over Suspected Trafficking Of 12 Children To Ogun

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command attached to the Rapid Response Squad 74 (RRS 74), said it arrested three suspects including a pastor over the trafficking of 12 children.

The operatives arrested the suspects after the driver conveying the children — Between the ages of five to 16 — was intercepted at about 12:55 am on Friday.

The Kaduna-born driver, Muhammad Isah was intercepted in a Toyota Hiace bus with Reg No APP 489 XE, conveying four males and eight females.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the children, all natives of Akwanga Local Government Area in Nasarawa State, were en route to Ogun State.

In a statement issued by the FCT command spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh on Friday, she noted that the children were being trafficked by one “Pastor Simon Kado and Jesse Simon Kado who are now presently in police custody.”

“While investigation is still ongoing and efforts in partnership with Nasarawa State Police Command on how to reunite victims with their respective families, the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, wishes to reiterate that the safety of residents remains his utmost priority.

“He equally urges residents to report suspicious activities through the following emergency lines; 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653, and 08028940883; PCB: 09022222352,” the statement said.
