Good Governance Helping Us Win War Against Insecurity In Abia — CP

In a significant victory for Abia’s security, two schools previously occupied by kidnappers have been liberated by Operation Crush, led by Commissioner of Police Kenechukwu Onwuemelie. This success is attributed to a combination of Governor Otti’s effective governance and improved collaboration among security agencies.

CP Onwuemelie praised the Governor’s role in curbing kidnapping, citing the link between good governance and security. He also highlighted the reconstruction of dilapidated schools as a move that makes them less vulnerable to criminal use.

He said, “There is a connection between good governance and security, We can tell you that from what we have experienced in the past seven months, good governance has come back to Abia.

“Beyond that, the collaboration among security forces is stronger than ever, with the military, police, and all other agencies working together with the support of this government.”

He assured Abians of the commitment to ensuring a safe and secure state, as envisioned by Governor Otti.

The rescued schools in Lekwesi community, Umunneochi LGA, were once havens for kidnappers due to their neglected state and the lack of proper roads. Commander MacDonald Uba, the Governor’s special advisor on security, acknowledged these factors and assured the community that the roads will be built and the schools reopened.

Uba further emphasized the importance of community cooperation in providing timely information to authorities.

The Mayor of Umunneochi LGA, Hon. Ndubuisi Ike, confirmed a significant reduction in kidnapping incidents since Governor Otti’s administration took office.

“The governor has been very supportive. There is nothing we need on security that he has not provided. It is a war we are steadily winning, it is a war we are determined to win,” he declared.

The Mayor also commended the Governor and security agencies for their efforts in keeping Umunneochi safe from kidnappers.
