Hold Obaseki Accountable For His Campaign Promises, Cleric Tells Edo Voters

President of the DayStar Christian Centre, Lagos, Pastor Sam Adeyemi, on Tuesday, urged Edo State voters to ensure that Governor Godwin Obaseki fulfilled his campaign promises.

He stressed that the purpose of leadership was to improve the lives of the people through good governance.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had earlier presented certificates of return to Obaseki and his Deputy, Philip Shaibu in Benin on Tuesday.

Obaseki polled 307,955 votes to win last Saturday’s governorship election in the state.

But, the cleric advised the Edo people that beyond the celebrations, they should keep reminding Obaseki of the works that needed to be done.

“Thanks to God and congratulations to the citizens of Edo State Nigeria on the peacefulness of the governorship election.

“Now the next phase of the work; holding our leaders accountable to fulfil their promises to improve our lives,” he tweeted.
