Imo: 12-Year-Old Girl Infected With STD After Defilement By Three Men

The Imo State Police Command has arrested three men – Joseph Onyema, 35, Uzoma Nwanoreze, 30, and Eberechukwu Nwosu, 43 – on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl.

According to the state’s police spokesperson, Henry Okoye, the suspects were alleged to have sexually assaulted the minor repeatedly, resulting in serious physical injuries and a sexually transmitted infection.

The victim, whose identity has been withheld to protect her privacy, is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital.

Okoye stated that a thorough investigation is underway, and the suspects will be prosecuted after its completion.

“Detectives of the Imo State Police Command through painstaking and diligent investigations arrested three suspects namely; Joseph Onyema, ’m’, 35 yrs, Uzoma Nwanoreze, ‘m’, 30yrs, and Eberechukwu Nwosu ‘m’ age 43yrs, for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl (name withheld).

“Investigation revealed that the suspects had unlawful carnal knowledge of the minor on different occasions which made her develop serious virginal injuries as well as a sexually transmitted disease.

“The victim is currently receiving intense medical care at the hospital. The suspects will have their day in court upon completion of a discreet investigation,” he said.
