Imo Gov Under Fire For Buying N484 Million Prado Jeeps For Judges

A report of Wednesday’s Executive Council Meeting  held by the Imo State Government revealed that 22 Prado cars were bought for judges at the cost of N22 million each.

“Council commended Governor Uzodimna for saving close to 500 million naira for the state in the purchase of 22 brand new Prado cars for judges through prudent management of the internally  generated revenue from where the cars were paid for,” a government statement released after the meeting said.

In the statement, which was posted on the government’s Twitter handle on Wednesday, the council also “noted with dismay that most of the Permanent Secretaries do not use their official cars which ought not to be.”

But the revelation sparked reactions from twitter users, as they said that the government should have channelled the funds towards the basic needs of the state.
