INSECURITY: Police Place N50m Bounty On Two Wanted Kidnappers In Katsina

The Katsina Police Command has placed a N50 million bounty on two wanted kidnap kingpins terrorising the state.

The command in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Abubakar-Sadik Aliyu on Sunday, identified the suspects as Usman Modi and Jan Kare.

The police said the reward is for any individual with valuable information that will lead to their arrest.

The duo, according to the police, operate within the state, particularly in the regions of Kankara and Safana Local Government Areas.

The police noted that the identity of the informant and the information provided will be kept strictly confidential to ensure their safety and protection.

The command also added that individuals willing to share information on the terrorists could do so by going to the command headquarters in Katsina or any nearest police station or by calling 07015142112 and 08023871144.

“This initiative aims to enhance security operations in our dear state and combat the activities of these criminal elements.

“The safety and well-being of the residents are of paramount importance, hence, the state government and the police command’s commitment to taking decisive actions against criminal elements that threaten the peace and stability of the inhabitants of the state.

“All concerned citizens are encouraged to come forward with any relevant information that could assist the security agencies in apprehending the masterminds behind these heinous crimes of kidnapping and banditry in the state,” the police said.

The development followed recent protests by residents of the state due to incessant terrorist activities in the state.

On Friday, residents of Kurfi Local Government Area, one of the most vulnerable areas in the state, blocked the Dutsin Ma-Katsina highway for hours, protesting the insecurity situation in their communities.

Last week, armed men invaded communities in Batsari, Kurfi, Kankara, Bakori and Faskari.

Residents in the Wurma community of the LGA also reported attacks on Sunday last week, Monday and Thursday.
