Reno Omokri, a pastor and former special assistant on new media to Goodluck Jonathan, has advised members of the Nigerian Judiciary to Join the All Progressives Congress, APC if they want to escape arrest by the President Muhammadu-led administration.

Omokri made the statement in reaction to the recent invasion of the homes of judges and the arrest of over four of them by the Department of State Services.

Omokri, who has been an ardent critic of the president, made the statement in a post on Facebook on Monday.

According to him, members of the APC like the National Chairman of the party, Bola Tinubu, the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and the governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha who were allegedly corrupt persons, were deemed innocent because they belong to the party.

He said, “The best advice anyone can give to members of Nigeria’s judiciary is that if they want to escape gestapo style arrest, they should join APC.

“If they do, then just like Bola Tinubu, Rotimi Amaechi and Rochas Okorocha, they will be deemed innocent. In fact, just like in Abacha’s era, they should get the APC lapel pin and wear it for good measure!”

On the arrest of the judges, Omokri said, “The Presidency just released a statement saying the DSS has assured the President that their actions against the judges “are within the stipulations of the law.”

Is it DSS’s place to investigate or supervise itself? Are they now a court that can determine what is “within the stipulations of the law.”?

“Are they now the accuser, judge, Jury and supervisor of themselves? One would have thought the Presidency’s statement would have said it will independently investigate this matter and establish the truth rather than allowing the DSS investigate itself!”
