JUST IN: Ningi Resigns As Chairman Of Northern Senators Forum

Suspended senator Abdul Ningi from Bauchi State has resigned his position as Chairman of Northern Senators Forum.

Ningi stated this in a letter he signed informing the caucus of his decision soon after his suspension was announced.

The letter which was addressed to the Secretary, Northern Senators Forum, said, “I would like to resign my position as the Chairman of Northern Senators forum.

“This is of course necessitated by unfolding events in the National Assembly, the North and the Nation at large.

“I would like to specially thank members of the forum for the opportunity given to me for the last eight (8) months to spearhead this very important forum.

“I believe this forum is very important and fundamental to the progress and development of Northern Nigeria.”

He was suspended following his interview alleging that there was a budget padding of N3trn in the 2024 budget the national assembly passed and signed into law by President Bola Tinubu.

Although he was allowed to speak to address the issue during plenary on Tuesday, he did not retract and was not allowed to apologise.

He was suspended for three months.
