JUST IN: Over 100 Buildings Feared Destroyed As Explosion Rocks Akure 

An explosion that ripped through Akure, the Ondo State capital, on Saturday morning, has reportedly destroyed no fewer than 100 buildings. 

The explosion suspected to be a bomb blast was said to have injured several residents of Eleyowo community where the blast went off. 

Buildings affected include residential homes, schools, churches, among others.

The explosion occurred a few kilometres from the Akure metropolis and the Akure Airport, along the Akure-Owo expressway,

The blast was said to have also cut off the Akure/Owo road.
